A young rifle shooter in position, watched by a senior coach

About

Built by shooters, for shooters

Rajput Shooting & Sports Academy opened in Ahmedabad in 2021 to give the city what its shooters were travelling for: certified coaching, proper equipment and a clear road from a first shot to a state final.

Our story

A family that has shot for Gujarat for three decades

The academy is the Rajput family's sport, turned into a school. Founder and chief coach Hardiksinh Rajput picked up a rifle at thirteen and won a national medal the same year; his father Rajeshsinh has coached rifle and pistol in Gujarat since 1996; his wife Pankti competes and officiates at state and national level. Between them they have refereed the 36th National Games and coached at the Gujarat State Rifle Association and Ahmedabad Military & Rifle Training Association.

In 2021 they opened a range of their own. Today, at Club O7 in Shela and Ahmedabad Racquet Academy, academy shooters have stood on the podium at district, state and national championships, and the youngest of them started at ten.

Coach every shooter properly

Beginners get the same technical foundation as national-level shooters — stance, hold, trigger, follow-through — from a certified coach on the line.

Enter them, then prepare them

District, state, Khel Mahakumbh, SGFI and national championships are on the calendar every season. Match preparation is part of the course, not an extra.

Safety before scores

One shooter per lane, commands of the line, and a range officer at every session. Air weapons are real weapons and are handled that way.

Coaching experience

Coached by a national medallist

The academy is led by Hardiksinh Rajput, 28 years in the sport, with a senior coach who has coached in Gujarat for two decades. Every session is coached on the firing line by a certified coach who has competed, judged and officiated at state and national level.

How a session runs

One hour on the line

  1. 01

    Safety brief

Range rules, muzzle discipline and the commands of the line. Every shooter, every session, no exceptions.

  2. 02

    Set-up and dry fire

Stance, natural point of aim, hold and trigger release, checked by the coach before a pellet is loaded.

  3. 03

    Live fire

Scored strings on electronic or paper targets, one shooter per lane, with the coach on the line.

  4. 04

    Review

Shot groups read together, one correction to work on, and the plan for the next session.
